Overview

Ductless Mini-Split Installation done right

Westside Comfort Solutions is a Mitsubishi Diamond dealer serving Renton, WA that sizes and installs ductless mini-split heat pumps for homes without ductwork.

Ductless mini-splits heat and cool room by room without ductwork, which makes them ideal for older homes and additions. Sizing and install quality are what make them efficient.

  • Single and multi-zone mini-split systems
  • Mitsubishi Diamond dealer installation
  • Right-sizing for each zone
  • Clean line-set and condensate routing
  • Heating and cooling in one system

Why it matters

Why ductless mini-split installation is worth doing right

Ductless mini-splits solve a problem central systems can't: comfort in homes and rooms that have no ductwork. An outdoor unit feeds one or more wall, ceiling, or floor heads, each with its own thermostat, so a converted attic, an addition, or a too-hot bonus room finally stays comfortable without tearing open walls for ducts.

Because a mini-split is a heat pump, the same system heats and cools, and it does both efficiently. Sizing and install quality are everything: an oversized head short cycles and a sloppy line set leaks performance. As a Mitsubishi Diamond dealer we size each zone to the room and commission the system properly.

Is it the right fit?

Signs a ductless mini-split is right for you

A mini-split tends to be the best fit when:

  • A room runs hot or cold no matter what the central system does
  • You're finishing an attic, garage, basement, or addition
  • Your home has no ductwork, or ducts that aren't worth extending
  • You want independent temperature control room by room
  • You're replacing noisy, inefficient window units or baseboard heat
  • You want efficient heating and cooling from one system

How it works

What to expect with ductless mini-split installation

  1. 01

    Map the zones

We assess each space you want conditioned and the load of each, then plan how many heads and what capacity the home needs.

  2. 02

    Size and recommend

We size each zone to its room and lay out single-zone or multi-zone honestly, no oversizing for the sake of it.

  3. 03

    Install and route

We mount the heads, set the outdoor unit, and run the line set and condensate cleanly, with as little wall disruption as possible.

  4. 04

    Commission and test

We charge and start the system, verify each zone heats and cools, and walk you through the controls.

Your options

Single-zone, multi-zone, or central?

The right configuration depends on how many spaces you're conditioning:

Single-zone

One outdoor unit and one indoor head. Ideal for a single problem room, an addition, or a shop.

Multi-zone

One outdoor unit feeding several heads, each independently controlled. A good fit for whole-home comfort without ducts.

Ductless vs. central

If you already have sound ductwork, a central system may cost less; without it, ductless avoids the expense and disruption of adding ducts.

Fair, upfront pricing

What affects the cost

We quote after we see the home and map the zones. What affects cost:

  • Number of zones and indoor heads
  • Head style (wall, ceiling cassette, or floor)
  • Line-set length and routing to each head
  • Electrical work and the outdoor unit location
  • System capacity and efficiency

Every job is different, so you get a clear quote before any work starts, with no surprises. Financing is available, so the right fix doesn't have to wait. We're licensed (WESTSCS752MT) and insured, and we back our work with a 1-year workmanship guarantee.

Warranty coverage

The warranty behind your new system

These are three separate kinds of coverage, and they protect different things. The manufacturer warranty covers the equipment, our workmanship guarantee covers the quality of the installation, and the optional JB Warranties plan covers labor.

Up to 12-Year Manufacturer Warranty On Mitsubishi systems we install as a Diamond Contractor: up to 12-year parts and compressor coverage on qualifying residential installs, when registered within 90 days. We handle the registration for you.
Up to 10-Year Manufacturer Warranty On American Standard units we install: up to 10-year registered parts coverage (5-year base) when registered within 60 days. Covers parts, not labor. We handle the registration so you keep the full term.
1-Year Workmanship Guarantee Our own guarantee on the quality of the install. If our work isn't right, we make it right.
Optional Extended Labor Warranty Optional 5, 10, or 12-year labor coverage available through our JB Warranties partnership, covering labor plus a refrigerant allowance, separate from the manufacturer's parts coverage. Quoted per job.
We treat every ductless mini-split installation job like it's in our own home: diagnose it right, quote it fair, and stand behind the work.

Questions

Common questions about ductless mini-split installation

Are mini-splits good for older Washington homes?

Often, yes. Many older homes lack the ductwork central systems need, and a ductless mini-split heats and cools efficiently without it, zone by zone.

Does a ductless mini-split heat as well as cool?

Yes. A mini-split is a heat pump, so the same system both heats and cools, which is why they work well year-round in our climate.

How many rooms can one mini-split handle?

A single outdoor unit can feed several indoor heads, each with its own control. We size the system to the number of zones and the load of each room so every space stays comfortable.

Are mini-splits more efficient than a furnace and AC?

Often, yes. A ductless heat pump avoids the energy lost through ducts and lets you condition only the rooms you're using, which is why they're a strong efficiency upgrade in our climate.

Are ductless mini-splits noisy?

No. The compressor is outside and the indoor heads are very quiet, usually quieter than a window unit or a forced-air system kicking on.
